The Park of Villa Borghese occupies a large area in the heart of the city, and inside there is the charming Galleria Borghese where, at every corner, you can literally find a hint of wonder.
Inside, it is not by chance, that masterpieces by Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Raffaello, Tiziano, Correggio, Caravaggio and splendid sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Canova are preserved.
Once you enter the Borghese Gallery, it will be easy to fall in love with the works, displayed in 20 wonderful, frescoed rooms, in a charming porch and in an entrance hall. The collection was set up by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the early 17th century, and the Gallery itself was commissioned by the cardinal to become an elegant exhibition space for his impressive art collection. The beautiful gardens surrounding the Borghese Gallery give visitors the opportunity to conclude their visit with a relaxing walk in the middle of the green.
The Galleria Borghese is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm (last entry at 17.45) except for 25 December and 1 January.
The ticket office is open from 8.30 am until 1 hour before the museum closes.
