Spring in Rome: 3 walks not to be missed
Spring in Rome
3 walks not to be missed
What a rush, bloody spring...
Days that slowly lengthen with evocative sunsets, increasingly mild temperatures, trees in bloom and that magical desire for "rebirth": spring has arrived in Rome, and what way to enjoy it better if not with a nice walk in the open air?
Today our concierge Marco leads us with him to discover 3 walks not to be missed, a short walk from the 4L Collections.
EUR Lake
Romantic and regenerating at sunset, dynamic and crowded in the afternoon, quiet and pleasant in the early morning: the EUR pond is a must for a walk-in spring. Do not miss in March the Japan Walk with the cherry blossoms (the so-called Hanami period) and the iconic Waterfall Garden, designed by the architect Raffaele de Vico. It is an elegant composition of lights and water games that (our Marco wants to clarify) have not only a decorative but also practical purpose; they contribute, in fact, to the oxygenation of the waters of the lake. We are within walking distance of our Hotel Cristoforo Colombo and our Hotel American Palace.
Municipal Rose Garden
A secret and "incredibly magical" place in the capital: this is how our concierge Marco describes it! In spring, a walk to the Roseto Comunale is a must, a stone’s throw from the Lungotevere and the center of Rome, right in front of the Circus Maximus. The Roseto Comunale, never crowded and unique in the world, hosts about 1,100 species of roses from all over the world, including exotic places such as China and Mongolia. A stop not to be missed, loved by the Romans and by tourists! We are close to the Hotel Orazio Palace: how about an aperitif on the rooftop of the Ozio Restaurant after your walk?
Villa Borghese
A great classic that is impossible not to mention! A walk to Villa Borghese in the spring is a must for the Romans, who flock to every corner on the weekend, but also for anyone who is in the Eternal City, whether it is for work or a pleasure trip. "You probably don’t know", Marco points out, "but Rome is one of the cities with the largest number of green zones in Europe". Do not miss at Villa Borghese the rental of the rickshaw, for a fun afternoon for children, or the characteristic boats on the lake with the iconic Temple of Aesculapius. We are close to our Hotel Villa Glori and the Hotel degli Aranci.
