Street Art in Rome: 3 unmissable spots
An open air museum…
…yes, just like that! Rome is not only ancient history, ancient palaces and works of art incredibly far from us; the Eternal City also has corners that testify to the most modern expressions of communication. On 4L Concierge return the beloved advice of our concierge, who love to accompany tourists, locals and fans in secret places, exploiting their innate love for the city and the tips that only those who work with passion guard jealously and share with its guests. Today is the moment for Giovanni, who decided to take us to discover the most street and unconventional soul of Rome, a city made of history but also of modernity and color.
Graffiti e spontaneity in Trastevere
Here in Trastevere to artists known as Merioone, Elia900, Query e Harry Greb, who have embellished walls and shutters with their works, there is the fantasy of spontaneous and usually small interventions. Our concierge Giovanni wants us, at this point, to share his favorites streets and alleys for the street art works that populate them: it is viale Trastevere, via della Lungaretta, via della Paglia, the facade of the Cinema America and via Ugo Bassi with the staircase made by Diavù with the face of actress Elena Sofia Ricci (“undoubtedly my favorite!” – stressed Giovanni). We are not far from our Hotel Orazio Palace and Hotel Della Conciliazione.
Life in the Big City of Tor Marancia
A condominium museum, 11 buildings transformed into a daydream: here is the Big City Life, the wonderful project that came to the life in the popular district of Tor Marancia. We are in Lot 1, where 22 artists from 10 different countries have taken care of painting and embellish, precisely the facades of the entire lot with colorful and extravagant shapes, drawings and representations. To reach this iconic place you just need to search on the navigator the number 63 of viale Tor Marancia; we are at just few minutes’ drive from our Hotel American Palace and the Hotel Cristoforo Colombo.
The Trullo
We are, once again, a stone’s throw from the EUR district of Rome, in the Trullo area, cradle of street art and marked by a history of regeneration tank not only, for the fact, urban art, but also street poetry. The work not to be missed? “Eh, I tell you not?” exclaimed Giovanni! Take paper and pen and write: “Wherever i am ” by Gomez in via del Trullo, the works of Mercy and Mistercaos in the square at the corner of via Campagnatico and the Opera. “The Champion” by Jorit, also in via del Trullo.
