Cresci at the Vatican
First stop at a renowned and extravagant address, perfect for fans of revisited recipes. We are at Cresci, bakery, laboratory and restaurant, a stone's throw from St. Peter's Basilica and our Hotel della Conciliazione.
Here the Easter dove is prepared with two doughs with mother yeast, citrus honey, Molino Pasini flours, fresh eggs and organic candied fruit from Mauro Morandin: exceptional ingredients for a mouth-watering result!
Roscioli
Second stop, at number 34 of Via dei Chiavari. When it comes to history, tradition and goodness Roscioli in the historic center is always a guarantee. Roscioli's colomba is important, rough in aroma and consistency, and the flavors range from classic to pears and chocolate through apricots and caramel and three chocolates.
The Casatiello remains, however, the flagship of the maison: at one time Roscioli was perhaps the only one to produce the true Neapolitan casatiello in Rome during the Easter period! We are 10 minutes from our Hotel Traiano.
Dolcemascolo Pastry shop
This address is one of the "secret" ones, but for a little while longer... The famous Frosinone pastry shop Dolcemascolo has in fact recently opened in Rome, just around the corner from Piazza Mazzini.Alongside the colomba, available in the classic variant as well as chocolate, wild berries, chocolate and pears, chocolate and raspberries, pistachio, the Easter eggs are sensational here!
This year, however, they are reduced in size, appearing as eggs in cartons of 6 weighing 20 grams each. Each egg is made with the chocolate marbling technique, which allows them to be colored with layers of food color starting from the primary colors to create variegated nuances.We are 10 minutes from our Hotel Villa Glori and the Hotel degli Aranci.
